Small class size- Identification of underlying factors that interfere with student success
- Middle and high school course work in the core curricular areas
- CT certified special education teachers
The school provides middle and high school course work in the core curricular areas. Teachers are Connecticut certified in special education. Classroom instruction is based on the Connecticut Framework K-12 Curricular Goals and Standards and is departmentalized by subject area: English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Classes in Health, Physical Education, Career Education, Art, and Music are also provided. Secondary school credit is awarded by the districts for the successful completion of course work at Seton Academy. CAPT and CMT are provided at Seton Academy.
Classroom size and milieu are designed to serve a small number of students, with support staff (social workers) available throughout the academic day. Assistance with class work and homework is provided by teachers and a teacher's aide. The small size of the school - 24 student maximum enrollment- makes it easier for students to receive the support and assistance they need to be successful. |
