Q: What is the admissions procedure?
A: The preliminary admission material provided by the PPT and/or community providers is reviewed and an appointment for an initial interview is set. If admission materials are found to be inadequate or missing, additional evaluations (psychiatric, psychological, family, neurological, or educational) may be requested. Students attend Seton Academy only on a voluntary basis and must be willing to participate in setting goals with staff. During the interview, the student, his/her parent/guardian, and Seton Academy staff discuss the student's goals and the process by which they may be attained. Following the screening interview, the student and his/her family determine if they are interested in the School program, while the School staff determines if the student's needs can be met by the School. Once a student is deemed appropriate for admission, his/her local Planning and Placement Team and the family is notified. A PPT meeting is held with Seton Academy staff and a start date is set.
